This may be me, but aren't we a bit thin on the ground with Mods over this holiday period?
Yes we are for the reasons Perm said. I'm around however, and will keep on top of Reported Posts myself where possible.

I see he's been banned on what must be his 5th CW alias today? Is there no way you can ban his IP, or is one of those cases where it gradually changes?
It is possible, I visit Neoseeker (another forum), and they can do ip bans.

For dial up i believe it is the same

But for cable/broadband everytime you shut down and then start up your computer your internet will be tapped in as a different I.P address everytime

I thought with Dialup everytime you 'dialled up' and got onto the internet you had a different IP.

Recently, I've noticed that several posts (including one of my own in CC) have received warnings because they seem inappropriate out of context but are actually well-intentioned and only in jest in the particular context. James, I can understand that you obviously won't know the situations and intentions behind every post but is there any way to solve this? Are warnings currently limited to reported posts or do you issue a warning whenever you see an inappropriate post, taken in or out of context?

In jest is the keywords I see in your post. There's no way for someone to tell whether something is said in jest or in a serious nature on the forums is there so it generally gets acted upon where a mod or admin believes it needs to be.

Not at all re reported posts, but they do help alert us to problem posts, but that's not to say we act upon all reported posts submitted.

yeah, with dial-up your ip changes everytime, but i beleive it is possible to ban that persons "ip range".

As for broadband, correct me if i'm wrong but unless you pay for a fixed ip, it will also change minutely every time your computer is restarted.

Can anything be done about the troll JustTool? He is really annoying, and I know a lot of other members are annoyed by him

Well, I was considering reporting him too and most would agree that he is a troll who contributes nothing to the forums other than insulting Tendulkar and forum members.
The problem is that a number of us have responded by calling him a troll, tool, dickhead, etc ... that may be accurate, but can you get warned for slamming a troll?

He's already on my ignore list. Still, if we can get rid of someone who is virtually a spammer and definitely a troll, it would be a good thing IMO.

Jono shouldn't be warned. At first, no one said anything serious to him and he was ignored. He didn't learn and after a while it does get on you, and I don't blame Jono for calling him a dickhead.

Saqqy Mush has just proved he is BLE by saying 'Afridi will be the outstanding player of WC '07 by some distance'

That's not the point. James has made it clear that he warns posters regardless of the context in which the post was made, so I'm not sure if that applies here.

Even if he does get warned, what Jono made me crack up.

And I just changed my Avatar back to Sachin to annoy him when he comes on.
