Everyone's fixtures are up now I presume? How're they looking?

Mine should be quite interesting, I've got a chance in all my games really but need everyone to perform to their ability!
It still says I'm in Div 5, despite winning my playoff to remain in Div 4. As it is, I'll be struggling for a top 4 finish in my Div 4 league, but it's doable. My first cup match will be an absolute walkover though, it'll be my opposition's third game. Planning on batting first and opening with Canning in an effort to get him his first century.

*takes out the knives*

Bhutia's fairly close to popping in his secondary aswell, so he's ahead in primary & stamina (which is also close to popping), and not too far off secondary. Harewood is a much, much better fielder, of course, but his fielding isn't going to make him take more wickets, and with fielding the unknown quantity that it is, how useful is it? Will six levels on one of your 11 players make that big a difference?

Anyway, besides the point. I rate Bhutia higher because he is better, as a batsman, than Harewood is as a bowler. Both will be guns though.
Does six levels of fielding make up for one-sixth of a level of primary? Yeah.

Fairly pleased with Street now my best bowler TBH although not by much.

FINALLY! Reed's popped, so I can stop training him:

Code:
Mark Reed - 24 yo, BT Rating=48,498
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, sublime
An attacking player with mediocre leadership skills and feeble experience.
Stamina: strong Wicket Keeping: mediocre
Batting: [B]wonderful [/B]Concentration: remarkable
Bowling: worthless Consistency: feeble
Fielding: mediocre
He must be pretty close to Wonderful Conc...but I'll not bother getting him up there, as I'm clearly not going to sell him for a very long time.

Wages-wise:
Sandwith just over £18k
John and Reed around £13k
Brooker and Hirst £9k
McGregor, Gibb, Gonasilan, Verma between £3k and £5k

BTW, what do people reckon on paying £1.5M for a Strong/Comp batsman (or thereabouts)? About right? I'm in desperate need of one to fill my #6 slot.

How important is the #6 spot, really? You'll rarely need a big innings from your #6, and if so, then you'll be in dire straights anyway and I don't think a strong/comp will do much in II. I'd save up and get a remarkable+ batsman for ~4-5mil. Or just continue saving and see what happens.

Oops - I meant #5. I sold the #6, and want someone a bit better to fill the gap!

Unlike many sides, my tail does seem to wag every so often. I'm after a defensive batsman to stick around a bit, as my side's currently a bit unbalanced. I was thinking of buying one now, then waiting until the end of this season to trade him in for a better model (hopefully he'd sell for £1M and I'll have £2M in the bank).

Fair point, though. Might put the limit at £800k and try to get a Prof.

One pop:

Ben Horne - 19 yo, BT Rating=18,489
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, energetic
A cautious player with abysmal leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: mediocre Concentration: mediocre
Bowling: quality Consistency: mediocre

Wages gone up a fair bit as expected, but not too bad. Armstrong is up to £18,406 a week, Wheat is £9,868, Pace £8,267, Dillon £7,488, Horne £6,311, Packer £4,253 and so on. Overall wages bill will probably be around 65k a week, up 20kish.

Hey, Scaly, could you help me with this guy? How long till quality?

Nelson Johnston (366558)
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, sublime

Battrick Rating: 17,320
Wages: £5,408 p/w
Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: worthless

Stamina is +1, conc would be about 70% to prof or so.

If you've got no intention of buying a long-term/decent player soon, then perhaps it'd be a good idea to go for the strong. You can always sell him at the end of the season and upgrade, like you said. I'm sitting on 4.5mil at the moment, waiting for a decent remarkable-ish seamer to pop up :( Agonizing wait, tbh.

He should pop in batting in no time.

Ohh, nice to hear. Say, within 2 weeks? How much do people think he'd fetch once he pops to quality? I'm probably going to sell him, hopefully get 3mil+ for him, which would give me 7-8mil, possibly to spend on a super player. :D That'll free up 2 nets, which I'll give to a 17yo bowling trainee.

Yea, should get 3mil+ - I'd be very surprised if they didn't pop within 2 weeks.

Tho I think it's pretty difficult to get a super player at the moment, wonderfuls with rubbish con are going for 6 million.

Dwight Kealey - 18 yo, BT Rating=17,498

An attacking player with worthless leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: abysmal

Woop!

Kealey gets interesting here. He's my 3rd best batsman (prof/comp/comp, prof/prof/comp, Kealey) so he might be in at 5 in my first choice XI, but I don't want to over work him.
