The Wheel is Forever
BTW, I'll put my gloating cap on and mention that I said (unlike most of you) that I'd rather have Tendy over Sehwag as a bowler.
The bookies still have SA slightly in the lead, not us.I swear, from reading this thread if you didn't know the score you'd assume India were 2-0 down in the series and following on. Just relax people. You're winning the test. There's no need to panic.
There are three ways to explain this phenomenon of negativity.I swear, from reading this thread if you didn't know the score you'd assume India were 2-0 down in the series and following on. Just relax people. You're winning the test. There's no need to panic.
Turning a bit, not a lot. It was slow due to good bowling (good tight fast bowling more than slow bowling). Kumble seemed out of sorts, and then he switched ends 2-3 overs a go and got a wicket.I've only just started watching for 15 minutes. Can someone give me a brief outline of today?
How did Smith and Amla fall so quickly, and was Prince and Amla's partnership really slow due to good bowling? Or is the pitch turning a lot?
Dude, I said to bring him on last night.BTW, I'll put my gloating cap on and mention that I said (unlike most of you) that I'd rather have Tendy over Sehwag as a bowler.
Zaheer started off with some intelligent bowling, hiding the ball and using change of pace and cutters to apply some pressure. Kumble finally found the right line - about 8 inches outside off where the rough patch is. Smith was playing him well but tried the on-drive once too often and Sehwag took a good diving catch at short mid-on to get him on 94. Zaheer eventually got taken apart by Smith and Sreesanth replaced him with a great spell of 6-4-3-1. Amla took a dump on a wide one. Munaf came on and bowled quite well, beating the edge several times and reversing it. His pace is still disappointing, in the low 130s consistently. Kallis looked solid after lunch and Prince dug out consecutive reverse-swinging yorkers from Munaf. Sehwag came on but bowled too straight and didn't do any damage. Sachin finally came on and broke the partnership with Kallis holing out. Along the way, the fielding was great at times and horrendous at others, with Kumble, Zaheer, Ganguly and Munaf all committing pathetic misfields. As for the pitch, it's turning a decent amount but the rough patch outside leg is the deadly area. The RR is down due to tight bowling from Munaf and Sreesanth in particular, as well as Kumble.I've only just started watching for 15 minutes. Can someone give me a brief outline of today?

No, his second innings average, even on flat tracks is repugnant.Something I was thinking about - should Sehwag open in the 2nd innings?
Then who, Dravid and Jaffer? I wouldn't want Karthik opening after 'keeping for 100+ overs. No, his second innings average, even on flat tracks is repugnant.
Nope. He might get out early and the other guys will feel the pressure because they're Indian. Keep him down the order so he can blast if necessary later.Something I was thinking about - should Sehwag open in the 2nd innings?
Good point. Jaffer and one of Dravid/Tendy/Laxman.Then who, Dravid and Jaffer? I wouldn't want Karthik opening after 'keeping for 100+ overs.
If only.Good point. Dravid and one of Dravid/Tendy/Laxman.
Dravid would be a decent idea. He'll be hungry for runs and he's obviously good enough to open. Sreesanth is the other option. Then who, Dravid and Jaffer? I wouldn't want Karthik opening after 'keeping for 100+ overs.
Haha, Freudian slip there. I only wish.If only.
