Err ... Sehwag might get another chance after all.
There's no point for the another chance, if he doesn't get put down the order.

But they won't leave Gambhir gameless throughout the series, they might have to kick out Jaffer if they want to keep Sehwag.

I have a feeling they'll play both Jaffer and Sehwag. Perhaps Karthik will open if Dhoni is not 100%. Whoever plays, I hope they do well. India desperately need this win.

Yup, but that'll be very unfair to Gambhir. If Karthik does play instead of Dhoni, he should open. It'll be a chance of lifetime for Karthik, he should make good use of it.

Just going by the reports of several websites (ie cricinfo, indiatimes, rediff) ... they might stick with Sehwag for his "match-winning" ability. 8-)
if that is indeed so, i think it just shows an incredible lack of faith in gambhir more than anything else...that they wouldn't replace him even with such a sadly off-colour batsman...or maybe to keep sehwag, they'll kick out jaffer and bring in gambhir.....whatever....whoever plays, the batting lineup is still going to be incredibly fragile and ntini and co must be just thirsting to get at them....

Could be a chance to play Morkel and Steyn in the same side if they want to take the risk, both can go for a few runs and get quite wayward. I do hope Sehwag is dropped, he doesn't deserve to still be there. Looking forward to this game actually.

Apparently Perm they reckon that only one of Steyn and Morkel will be selected, and that Nel and Hall will make way for Harris and Kallis.

Word is that Dhoni and VRV are officially out of this match. That is according to every single news channel in India. So that means we are going to see Kartikh and Munafs comeback in this match.

No word on which one of the openers are playing, but I'm really hoping Sehwag is dropped. It would be injustice to Gambhir because the guy has earned a spot and he is being ignored for a fat ass who can't score runs right now or ever leave a ball.

Be interesting to see how Paul Harris does, he may be able to do a decent job for South Africa. Rated pretty highly according to the commentators, Kallis will certainly shore up the batting.

So Amla gets another go? Are you serious?
It's ridiculous, the guy has a poor technique and has been exposed numerous times. Bring in Neil McKenzie or JP Duminy.

Jaffer and Karthik opening with five middle-order stalwarts to follow. Poor Gambhir. :@

Looks like a batting paradise early on, but the Proteas bowlers are bowling the wrong lines so we'll have to wait and see.

Yes! Didn't I tell you so. Even Dravid and Chappell agreed with me, while all you CW members wrote my suggestion off.

Seriously, how exactly is Amla better than Hall, Rudolph, Dippenaar, McKenzie, Kemp, Duminy or Van Der Wath? He'd struggle to make my second XI...

If ever there was a pitch to suit India going into a final with the series 1-1, its this one. Even more so than the SCG test back in 2003/04.

So so very happy to see Patel back. They said only one change was made with Karthik in for Dhoni so I was yelling at my TV, and came here to complain, but dad said Patel's name is on the scorecard so that's awesome.

IMO the team changes are better for India, and not for SA.

Jaffer to score big just quietly. Interesting to see Karthik in as opener, and I really hope Patel guns it. Good looking bowling line-up.
