IMHO, both Lillee and Hadlee > McGrath, plus we only need one world class spinner so the current team is slightly better. Both teams have a glaring ommision in that Imran is missing. :p
For that matter there is another serious omission - even I am missing :)

You are such an automatic choice that it would be no fun to include you in the options SJS. Your inclusion is a given! So just like we often do with Bradman, we automatically exclude you in order to have a more lively debate. :) My point still stands about Imran though.

SJS (and others, too)! in your opinion if a leading batsman were to be given a choice of facing either lillee/ hadlee or murali/mcgrath which pair do you think he would be more wary of? you can even think of a pair of leading batsmen facing this bowling in a partnership if that makes better sense to you.

You cant answer that question without knowing the conditions since one pair has a spinner and the other hasn't. But in moderate conditions (not really a spinning track), I would say Lillee and Hadlee is a more potent combination.

New Zelander: 1 (hadlee)

no one from SA, Pak, SL, Zim and Bang.

one player from the 40s: hutton
two from the 50s: hutton, sobers
one from the 60s: sobers
six from 70s: sobers, gavaskar, hadlee, lillee, richards, marshall
six from 80s: gavaskar, hadlee, lillee, richards, marshall, tendulkar
seven from 90s: hadlee, richards, marshall, tendulkar, warne, lara, gilchrist
four from '00s: tendulkar, warne, lara, gilchrist
one from '10s: tendulkar???
