Zaheer Abbas speaks

Pakistan’s tour manager Zaheer Abbas has indicated in an interview with Sky Sports News that Pakistan would consider replaying the forfeited Oval Test if given the opportunity. He also stated that the side would not play under Darrell Hair’s supervision again, but that the forthcoming ODI series between the two sides would go ahead as planned.

It is highly unlikely that the opportunity to replay the final Test would arise, but Pakistan’s willingness to do so would be dependent on new umpires being used. Abbas also refused to answer a question about Darrell Hair’s proclivity toward controversy, especially regarding Asian teams – a question asked by a clearly angry Pakistani journalist.

There will be a press conference at 3.30pm BST this afternoon, held by the Pakistan Cricket Board – they say the conference is to explain the decisions that they made yesterday. Cricket Web will bring you full news from this event later in the day.
