Warne rested ahead of The Ashes

Hampshire’s chairman Rob Bransgrove has given his Hampshire captain Shane Warne a two-week break after Cricket Australia requested that Warne rests ahead of the forthcoming Ashes series.

Cricket Australia asked Hampshire for the special consideration that was duly granted by chairman Rod Bransgrove.

Bransgrove said that Cricket Australia have already asked for Warne to take a break on a previous occasion however the player himself decided to play on.
