Vaughan targets January return

Michael Vaughan has told media that he is targeting a return to the England side in January next year for the VB Series in Australia.

Vaughan had a recurrence of his knee problems in February in India and the surgery that followed ruled him out the Ashes later this year.

Vaughan told the BBC that he feels as though he’s on an upward slide though and with some hard rehab can look forward to getting back to playing in the early part of 2007.

The VB triangular series involving Australia, England and New Zealand starts on 12th January with each team playing each other three times.
