Vaughan targeting Perth Test

Michael Vaughan is hoping to be fit and ready to make himself available for the final three Ashes tests in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.

Vaughan last played for England in December 2005 in Lahore and has struggled with knee injuries ever since, but Vaughan told the English newspaper the Independent today that he hopes to be playing cricket again in three weeks, and that the knee is coming on really well.

If Vaughan is to make a recovery in three weeks, that could mean his come-back match could be against Western Australia in Perth in a two-day game starting on December 9th.

Vaughan is to leave for Australia in a little over a week to continue his rehabilitation and will join up with the England Academy squad in Perth.
