Stuart Clark to replace Styris

New South Wales and Australia ‘A’ paceman Stuart Clark is to join up with English county side Middlesex next week as the replacement to New Zealand’s Scott Styris who will be joining up with the Black Caps ahead of their tour to Zimbabwe.

Clark will stay with Middlesex until the end of the summer; it will be the second stint with Middlesex after a successful spell at the county last season.

Clark is looking forward to getting back out in the middle after a successful summer for the Blues where he took 40 wickets in the Pura Cup at an average of 24.77 with best figures of 5 for 10 against Victoria.

On completing the signing Clark said “I’m excited by the opportunity of playing county cricket again. I’m looking forward to competing in English conditions. I’ve been watching the matches involving Australia and I’m keen to test myself bowling over there.

“I have been training hard and am ready to start playing some cricket again. My time in Middlesex will hopefully great for the club, myself and leave me in good stead for the coming domestic summer.”
