Clark, whose injury was expected to keep him out for up to six weeks, will return to cricket for his grade club Sutherland this weekend.

So rapidly has he recovered that the NSW selectors reportedly considered Clark for this week’s season-opening Pura Cup match against South Australia. Discretion, however, proved the better part of valor with Clark being given a few extra days befor returning to the bowling crease.

Clark’s Ashes build-up will now consist of up to two Pura Cup matches, 3 domestic one-day games and, if selected New South Wales’tour match against the touring Englishmen.
