Scott Styris to leave Northern
Andrew Marmont |Black Caps all-rounder Scott Styris is moving to Auckland.
Styris told Radio Sport this morning that the move was a logical one. “It just made sense with the amount of time playing away from home these days, I might as well play where I live.”
The move comes after eleven seasons playing for Northern Districts. He stresses however it is not as a result of former coach Bruce Blair, he rates as one of the best coaches he played with.
Styris has played 84 first class matches for the province scoring 3890 runs at 30.62, plus taking 84 wickets at 29.59 with his medium pace.
He joins test bowler Chris Martin who has also confirmed his movement, covered by Cricket Web on Sunday. Daryl Tuffey is also allegedly believed to be considering the move from Northern Districts.
