Sarwan injured ahead of WC
Zac Gelman |West Indies vice-captain Ramnaresh Sarwan has been ruled out of action for three weeks with a hand injury.
The injury occurred during a domestic game when he was hit in the hand by a Fidel Edward’s bouncer. The impact chipped a bone in his right thumb.
“I am very disappointed. I was looking forward to preparing for the World Cup,” he said.
He said he hoped the injury would heal quickly ahead of the World Cup in March. The latest setback comes after returning from an injury late last year when he fractured a bone in his foot during the tour of Pakistan which caused him to miss the entire one-day series against India.
“It is disappointing, especially knowing that I just came off a hairline fracture from my instep,” he added.
“As soon as that started to get better, here comes another injury. But it comes with sports. You just have to accept it and keep on moving.”
