Rogers Stars
Richard Twyman |An all-round performance from Barney Rogers guided Zimbabwe to a second consecutive win against Bangladesh.
The opener top-scored with 66 in the visitors score of 237-5 from 50 overs, although the total owed a lot to a late blitz from Tatenda Taibu and Elton Chigumbara, who added an unbeaten 84 from just 55 balls. Again it was the young left armer Enamul Haque junior who took the bowling plaudits, picking up 2-37 from his 10 over stint.
The Bangladesh reply started well, and whilst Nafis Iqbal and Habibul Bashar were adding 90 for the third wicket, they were favourites to overhaul the target, before disaster struck with the last 2 balls of the 30th over, Rogers running out Bashar before Hondo trapped Iqbal leg before wicket.
Still it was only 108 needed from 20 overs, but Rogers picked up 2 wickets in 3 balls and the innings was in decline, ending up all out 31 runs short.
