Rixon joins race for Sri Lanka coaching role
James Nixon |Former Black Caps coach Steve Rixon has joined the race for the Sri Lanka coaching role and is to be interviewed next week.
Rixon has been shortlisted for the job alongside fellow Australians Terry Oliver and Trevor Bayliss who are the coaches of New South Wales and Queensland respectively.
Rixon is the most experienced of the three having played 13 Tests and six one-day internationals for Australia followed by coaching spells with New South Wales, New Zealand and Surrey.
Sri Lanka have been searching for a new coach since Tom Moody resigned after the World Cup.
