Possible series in New York

A city in which 99% of the population when asked to name a sport involving a bat and a ball would name baseball rather than cricket may play host to a one-off ODI series between Australia and India later in the year.

Although there are no real details available yet, Cricket Australia have confirmed that they have been approached by India regarding the possibility of a clash on the neutral soil of North America later in the year.

It has not yet been decided when the series may take place, as with both a World Cup and a Twenty20 World Championship taking place there aren’t many free spaces, and Cricket Australia have also expressed their concerns regarding player burn-out and the need for some time off to rest.

If the series was to take place, Toronto and New York are the venues being considered.
