Pietersen climbs test rankings

Kevin Pietersen has climbed into the top ten of the ICC Test batting rankings following his scores of 158 in the first Test and 142 in the second Test against Sri Lanka.

Pietersen moved seven places from 17th to 10th, and in the process going one spot ahead of Marcus Trescothick.

In the bowling department, Muttiah Muralitharan has maintained his position at the top of the rankings after having match figures of 10-155 in the second Test at Edgbaston.
