Richard Twyman |Middlesex have signed Indian seamer Irfan Pathan as a replacement overseas player after Nantie Nayward suffered a groin injury.
Left-armer Pathan, who at just 20 years of age has already taken 45 wickets in 13 Tests and 47 in 29 one-day internationals, and is also more than useful batsman lower down the order.
Pathan who turned down a host of offers during the winter will now fill in for the injured Hayward who is expected to be out of action for up to six weeks after sustaining a groin injury.
Pathan is likely to make his county debut in Tuesday’s C&G Trophy match with Northamptonshire.
