Nixon reveals Vaughan’s injuries
Zac Gelman |England wicketkeeper Paul Nixon has revealed that Michael Vaughan is unlikely to play again during the Australian summer, creating fears that his career could be on the line.
Vaughan missed the Ashes due to persisting knee injuries and finally made his long awaited comeback in the one-day series, only to injure his hamstring.
“I don’t think Vaughany will be taking much part, sadly, I really don’t,” Nixon said.
“It is too sore at the moment.
“I had a bat with Michael in centre wicket practice a few days ago, and his hamstring wasn’t up to scratch.
“He struggled running. He is still having a lot of rehab, doing a lot of swimming pool work and a bit of acupuncture.”
The former captain is currently undergoing intensive rehabilitation in the hope of attaining fitness ahead of the World Cup in March, according to the BBC.
