James Nixon |New Zealand have beaten Indian domestic side Baroda in a warm-up game by 59 runs ahead of the Champions Trophy making it two wins from two for the Black Caps.
New Zealand batted first and finished on 267-8 from their 50 overs with Scott Styris top scoring with 52 before he retired hurt with cramp, while Shane Bond ended the innings in style scoring 43 not out from 42 balls.
Baroda after a promising opening parternship then failed to kick on and finished their innings on 208-9 from 50 overs.
New kid on the block Mark Gillespie was the pick of the bowlers and continues his good run of form after picking up 3-19 from 10 overs, and he could well have forced himself into the team for the Black Caps first Champions Trophy match against South Africa on 16th October.
