Martyn sighted at Hopman Cup

Damien Martyn has made his first public appearance since his shock retirement earlier last month.

He was sighted at the Burswood Dome in Perth, watching Australia play in the Hopman Cup.

Martyn has told his manager Colin Young, that he was happy in retirement.

“I just said to him (Martyn) ‘How are you feeling?’ and he goes ‘Fantastic, really relaxed, just enjoying the break’,” he said.

After announcing his retirement on December 8th, Martyn quickly left the spotlight and went on holidays to escape the intense media scrutiny, leaving much speculation on his whereabouts and future plans.
