Mahmood on road to recovery

England fast bowler Saj Mahmood is set to make his top class return for county side Lancashire this week after months on the sidelines.

Mahmood, who has not played in a Test since the Ashes in Australia and a one-day game since the recent World Cup, suffered from a hernia problem which required surgery last month.

Mahmood will take part in his side’s Pro40 match against the Northants on Wednesday with the hope enough can be done in time for the selectors to take notice ahead of England’s seven match one-day series against India starting later next month.
