Laxman looking for recall

VVS Laxman is hoping to secure a part in India’s Test lineup for their three Test tour of England in July and August.

Laxman has missed out on selection recently having not played for India since the tour of South Africa in January of this year.

Laxman told Sky Sports that “It was frustrating because I thought I did reasonably well in South Africa but then the situation was such that the team management had to take a call on five bowlers.”

Laxman went onto say “In a team game someone misses out and it was unfortunate that I did in Bangladesh. It is quite disappointing honestly, but it is not in my control. What’s in my control is to go out and get runs whenever I’m given a chance. I’ll be focusing on that.”

Laxman has played 80 Tests for India and has scored 4,878 runs at an average of 42.41 with 10 hundreds and 27 fifties.
