Kumble announces ODI retirement
James Nixon |Anil Kumble has confirmed his retirement from one-day international cricket following India’s unsuccessful World Cup campaign.
Kumble had told officials and team mates that he would retire from ODIs following the World Cup and confirmed this to them following India’s elimination.
Kumble is India’s most successful bowler of all time taking 337 wickets from 271 matches at an average of 30.89 with a best of 6-12.
Kumble will continue playing Test cricket and will be expected to feature in India’s next assignment against Bangladesh in May where two Test matches and three one-day internationals are played.
