Kenya thrash Bermuda

As expected, Kenya have romped home to victory against Bermuda in the first match of the World Cricket League in Nairobi, winning by 10 wickets.

Kenya won the toss and had no hesitation in bowling first. They were soon reaping the benefits, reducing Bermuda to 44-4, with Peter Ongondo picking up three of the wickets.

There was some resistance from Dean Minors and Janeiro Tucker though, as they produced a 50 partnership for the fifth wicket.

However, Hiren Varaiya then removed Tucker, and in the next over, Steve Tikolo caught Minors off his own bowling for a courageous 52.

Delyone Borden was then run out by Tanmay Mishra, and he was soo joined in the pavillion by Malachi Jones, who was bowled by Tikolo with the score on 108-9.

Kevin Hurdle came in and slogged his way to relative success, hitting two sixes while guiding his team to 133 all out.

David Obuya and Maurice Ouma then came out for Kenya, and it was clear that they wanted to end the game as soon as possible.

The most exciting period of play came when Obuya brought up his 50 with a six, thus losing the ball for the second time in 20 minutes.

It was one of the easiest run chases Kenya will ever experience, and they reached the target with Obuya unbeaten on 75, and Ouma on 56.
