Katich Injured; Jaques Comes In

Simon Katich has been ruled out of the VB Series match against South Africa tomorrow with a groin injury and has been replaced by Phil Jacques.

Errol Alcott, the Austalian physio said Katich will undergo a scan to determine the full extent of the injury.

With Adam Gilchrist being rested for this match, there will be a brand new opening partnership probably consisting of Phil Jacques and Damien Martyn.

Phil Jaques comes into the squad on the back of his continued excellent performances in domestic competitions. In the ING Cup so far this season Jaques has scored three hundreds and is averaging 104 with 502 runs to his name.

Word coming out of the Australian camp has suggested that Brett Dorey, the Western Australian pace bowler is likely to make his debut tomorrow.
