Jones is latest England injury

England’s injury troubles were compounded further by news that wicketkeeper Geraint Jones is in doubt for the fifth one-day international against India.

England trail the hosts by 4-0 in the series of seven, and a thigh strain could keep Jones out of the dead fifth match.

Jones scored 49 in a lowscoring England effort in the fourth match. He batted bravely in adverse conditions of high humidity, but could not help prevent a 4-wicket defeat.

Injury has already claimed captain Michael Vaughan, vice-captain Marcus Trescothick, key seamers Steve Harmison adn Simon Jones, and front-line spinner Ashley Giles.

Matt Prior will handle the glovework should Jones not be fit.
