Jayasuriya to quit Test cricket
Zac Gelman |Sri Lankan stalwart Sanath Jayasuriya has announced the current Test match against England will be his last.
“I am retiring after this Test,” Jayasuriya announced after yesterday’s play where he made a brisk 78 to give Sri Lanka control of the first Test.
“But I want to continue playing one-day cricket. I had decided before this match that I will retire after the Kandy Test.”
The sensational 38 year old from Matara debuted in 1991 and has since played 110 Tests, scoring nearly 7000 runs and taking 100 wickets for his country.
