Indian TV Rights Fiasco Resolved
Sangrah Bhatia |India’s national free to air broadcaster, Prasar Bharti has secured the television rights and will telecast Pakistan’s tour to India.
The ruling was made by the Madras High Court and the court order was that Prasar Bharti can consult any network for producing the feed except for ESPN Star and Zee Television.
ESPN Star and Zee have been embroiled in a bitter dispute over the last year to capture the multi million dollar rights to telecast matches involving the Indian team.
It is now expected that Prasar Bharti will consult either cable channel TEN Sports or it’s rival Sony Entertainment Television to produce their feed.
The Pakistan team is scheduled to arrive in India on Monday and will play three test matches and six one day internationals.
