Hogg and Tait miss Super Series
Alex Crampton |Australian bowlers Brad Hogg and Shaun Tait are to miss the upcoming ICC Super Series, due to injury.
Tait, who was expected to make his ODI debut in the series will be out for around 3 months with a problem in his right shoulder, while veteran Hogg has torn his left knee cartilage, putting him out of action for 3-6 weeks. Both players are expected to have surgery later in the week.
The pair replaced by leg-spinning all rounder Cameron White, who was called up as backup on last year’s Indian tour, and pace bowler Stuart Clark who was brought in as cover during the Ashes series.
White, according to captain Ricky Ponting will probably play in the first mtach of the one-day series. ‘There’s a good opportunity for an up-and-coming legspinner to get a chance to play some cricket for Australia,’ he said. ‘With a negative there always comes a positive, so that’s the positive side to it.’
