Herath included in Test squad
James Nixon |Rangana Herath has earnt a come-back and has been included in Sri Lanka’s 20 man squad for the two Test series against South Africa and the one-day international tri-series involving India and South Africa that follows.
Jehan Mubarak and Nuwan Kulasekara miss out on selection after failing to impress during Sri Lanka’s recent tour of England.
Marvan Atapattu has been included in the squad for the sole reason of getting him back involved with the players that are likely to be in the squads for the Champions Trophy and World Cup over the next nine months.
The chairman of selectors Ashantha de Mel announced that Atapattu will take over the captaincy from Mahela Jayawardene when he is fit again to play cricket which is likely to be for the Champions Trophy in October.
