Hayden doubtful for 3rd ODI
Sudeep Popat |Matthew Hayden is in doubt for the third of the five ODIs against New Zealand, in Auckland on Saturday, after damaging his shoulder while fielding in the second ODI, which Australia won by 106 runs.
Hayden hurt his right shoulder, when he dived to take a spectacular catch to dismiss Chris Cairns. Scans have revealed a grade one strain to the AC joint, which will take a minimum 3-4 days to heal.
The injury couldn’t have come at a worse time for Hayden, who after being out of form for months, regained his touch, by scoring 114 runs in the match, following up a gritty 71 in the first match of the series, which Australia leads now 2-0.
