Harmison makes speedy recovery
Zac Gelman |England fast bowler Steve Harmison has continued his excellent recovery from hernia surgery by being named captain of Durham against Sri Lanka A.
Harmison wasn’t expected to be fit for another week at least after being forced to undergo the surgery less than a month a go.
However he will now take the field today as captain for county side Durham’s three day match against Sri Lanka A at Chester-le-Street.
“He has worked very diligently to the programme prepared for him by the medical people. The surgery wasn’t too invasive, but he has done really well to get back so quickly,” said Durham head of cricket, Geoff Cook.
