Gillespie diagnosed with virus
Zac Gelman |New Zealand fast bowler Mark Gillespie has been diagnosed with a viral infection after complaining of paralysis in his right arm.
Gillespie is said to have caught acute brachial neuritis, a virus that affects the nerves in the spinal and shoulder regions. The news puts the start of his World Cup campaign in serious doubt.
He will be reassessed by specialists on Friday and at this stage it is unknown how much cricket, if any, he will miss.
