Ganguly misses the bus yet again
Sudeep Popat |Sourav Ganguly’s immediate future in cricket gets bleaker day by day, as he has yet again been left out of the Indian squad, for the last two ODIs against Sri Lanka.
Ganguly’s return to form in a domestic match a couple of weeks back seems to have had no effect on the selectors, as they rather picked Mohammad Kaif ahead of him, in place of the out-going Venugopal Rao.
Kaif missed the first five matches of the series, which India has already won 4-1, as a result of an injury, but was passed fit ahead of this selection.
The other player to miss out from the squad that made waves for leading the series 4-0 at one point with the possibility of a whitewash on the cards, is Jai Prakash Yadav, who has made way for uncapped all-rounder Vikram Singh.
The sixth and seventh ODIs will be played on Wednesday and Saturday at Rajkot and Baroda respectively.
India squad:
Rahul Dravid (captain), Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wicket-keeper), Harbhajan Singh, Murali Kartik, Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, Sree Santh, Gautam Gambhir, Rudra Pratap Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Vikram Singh.
