Ganguly banned for six games
Liam Camps |India’s Sourav Ganguly has been banned for six games by the ICC, due to an unacceptable over rate in the most recent One Day International against Pakistan. The Indian captain was fined 70% of his match fee in the previous game, which served as a warning.
Having repeated the offence, Ganguly faces the ban.
Under fire in his personal cricketing career, Ganguly’s place in the side has been the topic of constant debate. Distinct lack of form may see this latest development as crucial concerning his career at the international level.
In the absence of Ganguly, Rahul Dravid will take up the captaincy.
