Indian fans bad news and justified pessisim thread #FatRahiHai

India never dominated a WC like this. Even when they won it in 2011 , failing to win it at home I don't think has registered yet, this is going to hurt India for a very long time.
Then you didn’t watch WT20 2014 . We won every match and lost to SL in Finals

Aus are mentally toughest cricket team
They beat equally strong WI team in 96 and SA team in 99 . We are no where near them in handling pressure.

To other Indian fans who might be sad , cheer up . We got our best ever Asian games medal tally this year also made finals of Chess candidates tournament. We have started to do well in other sports also . Let’s give them the support also 😊

You will too, if you were batting 7 ahead of our tail.
He didn't bat at 7 in the final , he came in at 6 ahead of SKY. And sometimes you can't worry about what others are going to do , you gotta look after your own performances..Maxwell would not bat a SR of 40 even if his side were 91/7

The biggest disappointment in the final for me was Jadeja. He wasn't that good with the ball in the semi either. He flopped big time
Controversial take here, but he's never struck me as a fluent bat in limited overs formats despite the occasional decent innings. Much like Iyer, he needs the ball absolutely deadset in his hitting arc else he's very easy to tie up for a professional bowling side. Not disputing the all-round value he brings; his fielding alone saves runs, but I think it's time we restricted him to the Test setup and started blooding a younger allrounder for the next edition. Some heavy lifting ahead for BCCI/IPL scouts.

Take a break from the whining, yeah? India's had the wood over them in Tests for the last ten years and plenty of high-pressure situations involved in those where it was Aus, not India, that "crumbled". A one-dayer is just that; you win on the day if you're better.

That said, we really missed Pant here, his ODI record notwithstanding. He'd have been just the guy to not give a **** about the occasion and wake the others up.

I am as optimistic Indian supporter as any and regularly get into fight with other posters over cricket Team’s performance. But please tell me when was last time you see a Team hit total 4 boundaries in last 40 overs . This team mentally crumbles at big stages . Even in semis if not for Shami’s 7 wkt haul we might have lost

The choking narrative is a self-fulfilling prophecy, much like all of this thread has been. What's worse is it is passed down as inheritance to the next group that comes in, like SA have known for thirty years and now India are sadly finding out first-hand. I just wish (like a fool no doubt) that the press and fans stayed very far away from such simple criticisms. Work on what you can: fielding, tailend batting, a buffer of allrounders, not equating T20s with ODIs just because they're both played in colored clothing (also read as not picking people like "SKY"). The rest will take care of itself.

TMS were commenting on numbers of Test players in sides, these two obviously in particular

England used to switch between specialist batsmen and bowlers and bits n pieces all-rounders, whilst TMS were selling the aussie batting order as deep neither was particularly - Zampa, Hazelwood and Starc, swing away but not near as lacking as Shami, Bumrah, Vadav and Siraj

India middle and lower order went for 6/62, may or may not have been crucial but should be no shock the Indians fiddled around for a long time and scored was it just THREE fours in the last 30 odd overs or something given what was to come. Did Yadav bring more to the party than eg Ashwin would have? Shami and Bumrah should not be batting higher than #9
