Which players would be locks in every OTHER country’s ATG XI?

Saying Miller wasn't Test standard makes this whole debate redundant. Let's just agree to disagree then.

Imo should come in for Laker.

Which players would be locks in every OTHER country’s ATG XI?

Re the slip point, I disagree. If they are getting a serviceable cordon in place of thier great one, I don't think exchanging that for Imran's batting will hurt them. Let's not pretend there hadn't been times when that Australia needed lower order batting (2005 Ashes is the best example, were...

Which players would be locks in every OTHER country’s ATG XI?

Dude, you're creating what if scenarios and on giving an answer responding it was good as it was?? To answer your question, if McGrath batted like Imran and Ponting and Waugh turned into MoYo; Australia would simply use Hayden and Warne at slips and would gain sufficiently overall. It is...

Which players would be locks in every OTHER country’s ATG XI?

As you are giving Australia literally one of the worst slip cordons of all time; I will say had their last 4 batsmen were all Chandrashekhar level batsmen, they would take Imran's lower order batting over the cordon.

Which players would be locks in every OTHER country’s ATG XI?

No, I don't think so. If the slip cordon replacing them is competent, I don't think a Jadeja like batsman in the lower order will be an issue they will shred tears on.

    Rahul Dravid vs Graeme Pollock

I can't see why we are to blame Pollock for that, when by every record he tried his best against apartheid via cricket.

Which players would be locks in every OTHER country’s ATG XI?

Again, I am just simplying asking you the slip cordon they will get instead. Answer that first and then I will decide.

Which players would be locks in every OTHER country’s ATG XI?

Depends who are standing in the slips really. You need 2 or 3 good slip fielders, anything more is pretty useless and would be better if they're good in the outfield. Late order batting is handy from everyone.

Which players would be locks in every OTHER country’s ATG XI?

So like what you're saying is whether Australia would trade Ponting for Imran in an ATG scenario?? I can't see how stupid they have to be to not do that really.....

    Rahul Dravid vs Graeme Pollock

He is better than Dravid, I believe that. But by how much is very debatable. Also, Pollock isn't on the same tier with Sobers also.

    Rahul Dravid vs Graeme Pollock

Imo, you people are magnifying the gap in the abilities of Pollock and Dravid too much..... Pollock was the better batsman imo, but by how much is hugely arguable and with the length of his career at the top level and the attacks his faced, it's difficult to make a case for him to be in...

Shami also did provided early breakthroughs..... To put it again, in World Cups Shami has 55 wickets in 18 matches at an average of 13...... That's bonkers. 2011 Final wasn't won by bowlers, if anything 275 was an above par score.
  18. capt_Luffy

    Rahul Dravid vs Graeme Pollock

Because they weren't nearly as good as Dravid.... Not to mention, objectively Chandra had a better Test career than Pollock. Again, Pollock is the better batsman imo, but Dravid had the better career. It's like rating Barry Richards as a greater Test batsman than Hayden.
