Ford turns down Indian coaching job

Current Kent coach Graham Ford has turned down the chance to become Indian Head Coach after deciding to remain as coach of Kent.

The Indian Cricket Board announced over the weekend that Ford had been offered the job.

Ford told the BBC that “I am honoured that India have shown such interest in my capabilities, but feel this is the right decision for me and my family.”

He went onto say “I have had a chance to reflect on the offer made by the BCCI and their urgency to fill the vacant position. After careful consideration, I have decided to continue my work here at Kent.”

It now appears that Middlesex director of cricket John Emburey is the most likely to get the job now with Dav Whatmore’s application having been turned down.
