Flintoff and Vettori miss warmup

England’s Andrew Flintoff and New Zealand’s Daniel Vettori will miss the World XI’s practice match, ahead of the Super Series against Australia.

Flintoff will be rested, following a long English summer of cricket, whilst Vettori was called “unlucky to miss out” by Sunil Gavaskar, the director of the World XI.

Shaun Pollock leads a 12-man party in the limited overs warmup against Victoria, ahead of the first match against Australia on Wednesday. Vice-captain of the team is Brian Lara, of the West Indies.
