Coach wants stump mics off

England coach Peter Moores has voiced his disapproval at the use of stump mics to capture the on field banter and sledging between cricketers during play.

Moores comments comes as he tries to defend his side, which was accused of crossing the line during the second Test against India at Trent Bridge after an incident between Zaheer Khan and Kevin Pietersen made headlines when the former accused the latter of throwing jelly beans on the pitch.

“There have to be some things which are left on the field, to be fair to the players, so they can actually go and play the game without worrying that everything they do and say is going straight into someone’s lounge,” Peter Moores said.

“It’s something we’ve discussed as a management team and we’ll speak with the match referee.”
