Chennai: More rain, no play
Sudeep Popat |Someone once famously said, “Times change.” Say that to someone from Chennai, and you will probably be laughed at. Because apparently, it’s always time for the Rain Gods to take their wrath out on the city, especially when there’s a cricket match scheduled to be played.
Tropical storms (the result of Cyclone Baaz, enjoying itself in the Bay of Bengal, but bringing much misery to everything else apart from itself), washed out the entire first day’s play of the first Test between India and Sri Lanka. Chennai seems to be, sort of, developing a reputation for abandoned matches, with the last three ODIs that were supposed to be played lost due to the weather.
This means that India (the people too, apart from the team) will have to wait a day more to find out what exactly the deal about Sourav Ganguly really is.
