Chaminda Vaas declared fit

Chaminda Vaas has given the Sri Lankan selectors a boost by being declared fit for the upcoming tour of England beginning later this month.

Vaas was ruled out of the recent Pakistan series after suffering a strain on his left side, but has fully recovered according to Tommy Simsek, the Sri Lanka team physio.

Marvan Atapattu and Ruchira Perera who also missed the Pakistan series are still struggling with injuries.

The chairman of selectors Lalith Kaluperuma is set to receive a medical report on them both on Monday before meeting with the selection committee to decide on a 16-man squad for the tour.
