Bravo ruled out of ODI series

West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo will not take part in the upcoming quadrangular ODI series in Ireland after suffering an ankle injury.

The injury was sustained in the West Indies’ 93 run victory over England in third ODI at Trent Bridge, where Bravo scored 42 and took the vital wicket of Paul Collingwood.

Instead of traveling with his teammates for the six match series in Ireland featuring the West Indies, Scotland, Netherlands and Ireland, West Indies management have decided to play it safe and keep the all-rounder in London for treatment before sending him home.

Due to the short nature of the tour, the West Indies have opted against calling for a replacement to be flown in, with coach David Moore saying it will give a chance to some of the players that did not take part in the one-day series against England.

The quadrangular series starts on Tuesday with the West Indies taking on the Netherlands at the Clontarf Cricket Club in Dublin.
