Bell Injury Scare
Cameron Burge |Bell, slated to bat at number three following the withdrawal of opener Marcus Trescothick was struck on the wrist during a net session by team-mate James Anderson.
Immediately after the incident, Bell stopped batting and was taken to hospital for x-rays of his left wrist.
Should Bell be unavailable, the surprise arrival of former captain Michael Vaughan in Brisbane yesterday might prove very fortuitous for the visitors. Speaking to the media yesterday, Vaughan stressed that he had flown to Brisbane only to continue his rehabilitation with England medical staff and would not be making a surprise return in the Ashes opener.
