I bought this at a modest price on an internet auction site a couple of years ago – and I must confess I was a little disappointed when it arrived.
This looks like a coaching book with a difference, and seems suited for players and coaches alike. See what the long since retired David thought of it.
I love reading about the greats of Kent, from Blythe and Woolley to Freeman and Ames, and I am most interested to see what David thought of this new addition to Kent cricket history.
The book is subtitled “the Perspicacious Memoirs of a Cricketing Man” which sums up what Pat Pocock appeared as on the cricket field.
After reading this double review it seems we may have to find a younger reviewer, as our current team are a little long in the tooth. This book certainly looks like a great present for the budding cricketer.
The writer David Lemmon, who died in 1998, specialised somewhat prolifically in English county cricket.
This sounds like a good read, not sure where us poor Aussies can obtain it? But I will certainly keep an eye out.
A new book which continues the great tradition of Fatty Batter, but this time from a player who played at a high level. This week we have a twin review from David and Martin.
Finally one of the boys reviews a book that I have read! The author David Foot is one of the best cricket writers at bringing to life the ‘man’ and not just the cricketer.
