Our thanks go to all the worthy candidates for Book of the Year that we have read this year, but the main award can only go to one author, and for 2013 that is John Barclay.

Something rather special this week from Wisden’s publisher Bloomsbury, and from Archie’s review it would seem to be a more than worthwhile purchase.
Even if it is by far the oldest in the field, Wisden is certainly not the only cricket annual on the market, and this week Archie has been reading another offering from the Almanack’s publisher
Year in year out Wisden is the best cricket book around, so it is hardly surprising that a compilation of the Almanack’s highlights is a five star book
Archie knows as much as most about the era in which Tibby Cotter played, so as he clearly rates this biography it must be a worthwhile purchase
Our run of quality titles continues this week with a new book from Australia, which has also just been released in the UK.
I believe this book has appeared in an edition of as many as five hundred copies, so collecting badges with a cricketing theme can’t be that obscure a hobby
Who would have thought it? Our man Archie thoroughly enjoying a book as contemporary as it is possible to get.
