Astle and Vettori Passed Fit

Nathan Astle and Daniel Vettori have come through fitness tests and will take a full part in the 1st test against Australia starting on Thursday at Jade Stadium in Christchurch.

Nathan Astle was in doubt after injuring his right shoulder while attempting a catch at 2nd slip off Lance Hamilton in the 4th ODI at Wellington but has come through it with no ill effects.

Daniel Vettori has continued to experience problems with his back and was rested late on in the ODI series.

Vettori is expected to undergo his usual test workload however with John Bracewell and Stephen Fleming both saying there will be no limit on the amount of overs he’ll bowl in the test.
