ABC Cricket Magazine - Ashes Edition 2006/07

The ABC Cricket Magazine has become an institution. This is the 32nd Ashes edition.

The 2006-07 magazine is in my opinion the best one for a while. The 128 pages have the usual things that you expect from this publication.

There are profiles on each of the players from Australia, England and New Zealand.

There are also Test and One-Day statistics. There is also a large colour double-sided poster in the centre. There is also a handy ground map showing each of the fielding positions and types of shots. There is a schedule for the full 2006-07 Australian international and domestic cricket seasons as well as the World Cup schedule.

There is an article analysing of the strengths and weaknesses of both Australia and England teams are made by respected cricket journalists Peter Roebuck and Gideon Haigh.

There is a profile on Andrew Flintoff and former Australian fast bowler Geoff Lawson writes an opinion piece on Brett Lee and how he has to spearhead Australia’s pace attack this summer.

Angus Fraser writes an opinion piece on England batsman Kevin Pietersen. He discusses Pietersen’s onfield and off field personas to give us an insight into this very talented English cricketer.

The BBC?s Jonathan Agnew reflects on his numerous trips to Australia to broadcast the cricket Kerry O’Keeffe reviews four memorable Ashes Tests.

For the price of AUS$7.95 this magazine is great value.
