Collins and Ganga back for WI

Pedro Collins, the left-arm seam bowler, has been recalled to the West Indies team for the tour of South Africa. Collins and Ganga come into the side for Narsingh Deonarine and Ravi Rampaul, of the changes to the touring squad that will play five one-day internationals in Zimbabwe.

Ganga is considered to be a Test specialist, and the opening batsman will feature for West Indies for the first time since the England tour earlier this year. He captained the side in the absence of the injured Ramnaresh Sarwan through four Tests in that series.

Collins, 31, has not represented the regional side since July 2006. He was then sidelined with injury for the better part of a year, but returned strongly in the 2007 domestic season in the West Indies. The bowler was selected as part of the West Indies squad for the World Twenty20 in South Africa, though he did not play a match. And when he recently signed for Surrey as a Kolpak player, his international career was cast into serious doubt.

West Indies will play three Tests, five ODIs and two Twenty20 fixtures in South Africa, starting on December 16.
